Kiss & Tell Guest Live Artist: We couldn't have an Alpine Disco party without some artists from the mountains now, could we? Galoppierende Zuversicht (roughly translated as "galloping confidence") is the collaborative project of Bang Goes and Styro2000 from the Swiss label Bruchstuecke. Their recorded output is somewhat small, but this is only because they focus so much energy on making their live sets amazing and can't be bothered to finish many studio tracks. Their live set-up consists of about a dozen pieces of hardware (some of them self-built), with no laptops in sight. Over the years, they have become well known in North America for stealing the show at Mutek, The Bunker, The Marcy Hotel, Kontrol, and at Burningman. We are thrilled to welcome our good friends back to New York for the first time in a few years. |

Kiss & Tell Guest DJ: Safety Scissors In the early stages of Matthew Patterson Curry's musical adventures he was surrounded by the likes of Kit Clayton, Sutekh, Twerk, Kid 606, and Matmos who provided musical support and inspiration for his first forays into production under his Safety Scissors moniker. In May of 2000 at the very first Mutek Festival, he debuted his singing and electronic music in a live context. The dub-tinged techno pop was culled into Plug Research album Parts Water which received wads of international praise. Subsequent worldwide touring and invitations to well respected festivals soon followed, leading him to his obligatory Berlin stint. With Tainted Lunch, his second full length album, he strayed further from his initial techno roots, defining his own brand of "dork pop". His non-singer singing was more present and the structures echoed radio friendly tunes enlisting musical help from friends Kevin Blechdom, Francoise Cactus (Stereo Total), and Erlend Øye. He also has lent his talents for numerous remixes of artists in all shapes in sizes (including Matmos, Sketch Show featuring two members of Yellow Magic Orchestra, and indie bands like Grizzly Bear and Architecture In Helskinki). During all this he also founded his Proptronix label, releasing acclaimed acts like My Robot Friend and the Pigeon Funk project. Returning to San Francisco eventually he became an audio slave for an Emmy award winning cable network, while he still hung out with his synthesizer friends at night. His record collection shifted from the newer electronic releases to vintage late disco, early house and Italo disco. He's recently moved all of those records, as well as his synthesizers, to New York where he will wrap up his next album and dj his eclectic record collection for you. |

Kiss & Tell Guest DJ: Patrick Russell is a serious name to watch. A Detroit-bred DJ, artist and producer since the early 90's, Patrick has played countless clubs, parties, and high-profile events throughout his career. His resume highlights include everything from performing at the 2001 & 2008 DEMF/Movement festivals to an exclusive opening for Jeff Mills in Detroit in 2007. His taste has always been impeccable and his sets just get better and better as time progresses. And fans in Detroit and beyond are taking notice, as many of them are singing the praises of his artistry very loudly these days. Patrick's past three sets at The Bunker have all been nothing less than incredible, and we're very excited to hear what he brings to the table tonight. We've been talking with Patrick about playing a set at Kiss & Tell for a long time, as he has some pretty deep crates of vintage dance music. |

Kiss & Tell Resident DJ: Bethany Benzur is our beautiful disco
encyclopedia and vinyl purist from Georgia. Ever since she emigrated
to Brooklyn in 2007, Bethany has been ruling the dancefloor at Kiss &
Tell parties with her Southern charm and excellent taste. Even the
deepest crate digging record nerds are regularly awed by her rare
records and can be seen trainspotting her selections. Each month she
delights us with her mix of raunchy electro, glamorous dark disco, and
soulful street funk. Bethany has recently been moonlighting at The
Bunker party with some very memorable opening sets of space disco and
house. Bethany recently played at the Kiss & Tell closing night festivities of Communikey Festival in Boulder, Colorado in April 2011, alongside Kiss & Tell favorite Mike Huckaby. |
